100% oxybenzone free and reef safe, our broad spectrum SPF30 sunscreen makes playing in the sun, safe and fun! We use all natural ingredients to help protect your skin without damaging the ocean or your health.
To protect your skin from UV damage we use non-nano uncoated zinc oxide, organic jojoba, and coffee fruit extract to help protect your skin. Zinc oxide sits on the outer layer of skin stopping free radicals generated from affecting living cells below. Hawaiian Coffeeberry® Coffee Fruit extract and organic jojoba penetrate skin to nourish and hydrate.
Zinc oxide is one of only 17 active ingredients currently approved by the FDA for use in sunscreens. Zinc oxide is unique among sunscreen ingredients in that it is truly a broad-spectrum blocker, protecting from UVA, UVB, and even UVC. Hana Nai’a sunscreen provides chemical free sun protection for up to 60 minutes per application using Zinc oxide as a physical sun blocking agent that work primarily by reflecting/scattering ultraviolet light. It has a broad range of effectiveness, covering UVB *cause of sunburn (290-320 nm) as well as both short (320-340 nm) UVA2 and long (340-400 nm) UVA1.
The non-nano zinc oxide we use in our sunscreen also blocks visible light up to wavelengths 700 nm. As a single ingredient, zinc oxide is the safest and broadest range sunscreen on the market which is why we chose it for you and your family. However; like with most sunscreens, please make sure to reapply at least once every hour or after swimming.
Directions: We do not use chemicals or emulsifiers and ingredients will separate, PLEASE SHAKE WELL before every use. Safe to use on your face. Reapply every 60 minutes or after swimming . *Please do not take internally.
